Cellular Validation Expert

Full time - Starting no later than November 26, 2007

Position: Octasic is currently developing Base-station baseband and front-end sub-systems for its next generation SDR engines. This software based approach includes modules that perform Layer 1 signal processing, as well as digital radio interfaces to RF front ends for current and next generation cellular standards.

As Cellular Validation Expert in the Software Defined Radio team, you will participate in the design, architecture definition, implementation, integration and validation of the 2G/2.5G (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, eEDGE) and 3G (WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, LTE) software solutions.You will closely work with the system and embedded software architects during the specification and integration phases.

Main Responsibilities

• Specify, implement and execute the complete baseband and front-end system validation and conformance plan according to the 3GPP specifications:
• Write validation and conformance specifications in line with software architecture,
• Organize and execute the validation and conformance plans with state of the art RF and Base-station testers
• Generate validation reports for internal and customer use.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering;
• Overall work experience: 5+ years in wireless system design/validation;
• Knowledge of a TDMA and/or CDMA protocols.
• Familiar with the following environments:
• Programming languages:  C/C++;
• Cellular validation procedures and 3GPP conformance testing;
• Development tools: Microsoft Visual Studio;
• Test equipment and tools: Agilent, Rohde Schwarz, Aeroflex, LabView
• Good English writing skills and basic oral English are required; oral French is a strong asset.
