Customer and Sales Support Engineer for Korea

Full-time position, based in Montreal or in Korea – Available now

Reports to: Manager of Customer Services

Purpose: Interact with Octasic customers as a technical support specialist in the post-sale and pre-sale phases.

Responsibilities

  • Handle, reproduce and solve customer issues (30%);
  • Act as coordinator and translator between Korean customers and Octasic (20%);
  • Help customers integrate Octasic products into their system (20%);
  • Serve as a technical resource for sales representatives (10%);
  • Prepare and perform product demonstrations and trainings (10%);
  • Prepare product example code and collateral documents (10%).

Requirements

The ideal candidate is someone who has done low-level design in the voice telecommunications field in the past but has been working supporting customers, and is now looking for a leadership role in supporting Octasic Korean customer base. The candidate has to have very good interpersonal skills and be able to assimilate new technical information easily. We are looking for someone dynamic that would integrate well with a young and dynamic team, and who has:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical, computer engineering or related field;
  • Five (5) years of experience including low-level technical design work at some point (i.e. board design, or DSP coding, or low-level C embedded software or driver development, or ASIC testing), and at least 2 years in customer support;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Korean and in English;
  • Knowledge of some of the following areas is required:
    • Telecommunications system design and architectures
    • Embedded system design
    • FPGA or ASIC design (VHDL code).
  • Flexibility to travel and operate independently in Korea. The candidate will have to spend at least 20 to 30% of its time in Korea with current and potential customers.
  • For a candidate based in Korea, a 4-month training period in Montreal, Canada will be required.
