The annual EDN Innovation Awards honor outstanding engineering professionals and products. The Innovation of the Year awards recognize unique, state-of-the-art electronics products in several categories.

Wireless Design and Development 2009 Editors Choice Award
Vocallo BTS rated Best Technology
Wireless Design and Development (WDD) has awarded the Vocallo BTS for most innovative technology. The Editors Choice award of WDD is given once a month to companies who demonstrate outstanding technology.
Vocallo BTS is the first product of Octasic's recently announced wireless program that uses its Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology. True SDR capability plays a central role in the future of mobile communications systems. It enables system implementers to dynamically reconfigure and upgrade wireless systems purely on a software basis. This offers many benefits, including cost of ownership, ability to respond quickly to changing market dynamics, such as the introduction of EDGE Evolution, lower development costs and a significant time to- market advantage.

The EN-Genius Product of the Year Award was given to Octasic as recognition for its product excellence which demonstrated strong technical merit, innovative design, and exceptional marketability.
“The asynchronous logic technology used in the Octasic Vocallo processing chip gives it high levels of channel density and low power-per-channel that put it in some rarified company with only a handful of chips to compare it to.
