flexiPHY

flexiPHY is Octasic’s software product line that implements the Physical Layer (PHY) for Small Cell Base Stations (BTS), ranging from indoor Femtocell to outdoor Microcell and offering a cell size of up to 50 km in rural areas and user capacity of up to 32 users per DSP.

The flexiPHY product line consists of six Software Defined Radio (SDR) products that address the 3GPP cellular standards 5G NR, LTE/LTE-A, UMTS/HSPA, CDMA 2000, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE, as well as Octasic’s proprietary Radio Utility System (RUS), which performs Network Scan and can be used for Self Organizing Network (SON) capabilities.

flexiPHY products run on all hardware platforms based on Octasic’s 3rd generation OCT3032W and 2nd generation OCT2224W SoCs, except for 5G NR and LTE-A, which require an OCT3032W-based platform. On OCT2224W-based OCTBTS platforms, flexiPHY resides on the OCT2224W DSP and the protocol stack resides on the Host CPU (i.MX6 ARM A9 processor). The Core network can reside on the Host CPU or run externally to the Octasic platform. On OCT3032W-based OctNode platforms, flexiPHY resides on the OCT3032W’s Opus3 DSP cores and the protocol stack resides on the embedded quad-core ARM sub-system or on an external processor.

Each flexiPHY is offered pre-integrated with protocol stacks and core networks provided by Octasic partners.
